This is a work that reinterprets a warship from the Joseon Dynasty as the Turtle Ship series by overlaying it with Korea's Jeonju Hanji, a thousand-year-old Korean paper. The work overlaid with Hanji is part of the "Walk in Paris" invited by Japan's Kodak in 1999 and exhibited in Ginza, Tokyo, Japan...

I have been working with both analog and digital printing methods since 1998 by covering subjects with Korean traditional paper, Hanji, which is thousands of years old. This Korean paper work is owned by the Bibliothèque Nationale (BNF) and Carnevallet in Paris, France. It is housed in a museum. Born in Seoul, majoring in photography at university, and after graduating, in 1983, in Tokyo, Japan, I took a photo shoot tour of Eiichiro Sakada, a Japanese teacher who was the first disciple of the famous American Richard Avedon. After that, I took pictures of the models for fashion pictorials in a fashion magazine published by the publishing house of a famous Korean newspaper. I currently live in Seoul and work on art.
