About The Artwork

Chromogenic print (C-type) My model Kirsty Hawkes is an interpretive artist based in Warrnambool, VIC Australia. Kirsty and her practice are both unique. This photograph titled 'Unicorns Are Real', explores the ephemeral, surreal world of dreams and their connection to the world of the day to day. It also raises questions of the feminine and the notion of the mask, to be alien and strange and barefoot in the surf. *Finalist 2015 Maggie Diaz Photography Prize, Brightspace Gallery St Kilda, Australia
