"Uzay Kere" is a fictional persona from Mikaye which is an artists collective of Mustafa Kemal Yurttas. (http://mkyurttas.com/) “Uzay Kere” is one of the virtual avatars of Mustafa who is recording the daily encounters of bodies and architectures depending on his/her look on imperfect beauty as a photo-diary. The name and surname of the persona, Uzay Kere, is a mis-contra-translation of the words of space and time from Turkish to English and to Turkish again. This double translation reflects Uzay‘s bended point of view on these spatial encounters. Mikaye is an artists collective of virtual avatars of Mustafa and the playground of these fictional personas (Mk Yurttas, Uzay Kere, Uzak Yere, cekambiyarim, freezeus, AslieMk, Rhodesia) who are producing seperately and together in different medias like video, photograph, writing, drawing, 3d modelling, installation, spatial intervention, performance. These fictional artists are connected each other in a schizoid sense. They live and exhibit their works on social media such as vimeo, tumblr, instagram, facebook, twitter, eksisozluk. Their works play with the cultural codes dependent on established meaning structures and are spinning around the keywords like “schizo-creative”, “ghostly-becoming”, “post-human”.
