Westsider's Bookshop - Limited Edition of 50 Photograph

While living and studying in New York, I began documenting an old independently owned bookshop on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The photographs were taken on 120mm film with a Hasselblad camera. The shop is owned by a British man named, Dorian, who adorned the store with vintage objects and posters. In this day and age more and more independent shops are closing due to larger corporations and e-commerce websites. Books and magazines are beginning to become a thing of past as more and more people turn to online articles and downloadable books. Dorian has successfully held on to the old world charm, not only with his vintage books for sale, but the experience of walking into the shop, smelling the old leather bindings and feeling the paper when one turns the pages while skimming through the books.
