White Orchid and Sambuca Nigra. "Flowers in the time of Corona" is a series of limited edition photographs that are a response to the global Pandemic caused by the virus, Covid 19. As a dog and human portrait photographer, my frustration at the 'lock down', subsequent social distancing and also my empathy to others caught up in the very same crisis, led me to transfer my focus and passion to something that I had some form of control over. These visual observations, from a time of quarantine, became a metaphor for modes of isolation, whether they be personally or government endorsed. Symbolising both loss, hope and beauty. To capture the intimacy, drama, poignancy of composed (and sometimes de-composed) floral arrangements, signifying the glorious and deeply challenging cycle of life. This process is soothing me in these uncertain times. I approach these floral portraits in the same way that I approach my canine or human subjects. Delving deeper than what we see on the surface The prints are Giclee printed in a top U.K based Lab on archival quality, museum grade Hahnemuhle fine art photo rag paper (308 grms) The slightly textured surface produces brilliant colours, deep blacks and perfect reproduction of detail. Your print will arrive with you rolled in a tube sent by courier. Each print comes with a 2cm black border, ready to be put into a frame of your choice. With your artwork there will be a signed & numbered certificate of authenticity. This can be applied to the back of the print when framed.
