About The Artwork
Why are you sending me to school for a future that doesn't exist is both the title of the work and the motivation for its creation. I only photograph what I care about/love/value, etc, and this is the first demonstration I have photographed since 1975. It is as though the phrase " The Age of Aquarius" has no meaning, but it is obviously precise and correct in the vital sense that after all the ice has melted, Cardiff and all global coastal cities will be under 200 and more feet of water, or has everyone one forgotten that? These kids will have to all move uphill with everyone else everywhere else, and if that prediction is correct all of our homes and workplaces will need to move at least 70 metres uphill, and much more to cope with the bigger tidal waves and psunamis that will accompany our having less land to live on. Forget the crackpot British (obviously!!) scientist saying we will refreeze the artic!!!

I am the photojournalist, born in Marylebone, London in 1949. I have had a number of occupations and abandoned photography completely between 1982 and 2006, when the destruction of Cardiff City centre to build a 2 billion euro shopping mall had results so visually fascinating in terms of our then altered behaviours that i started a long-term project that went on to include sports fans, flower shows and carnival parades, adding up to a reasonably comprehensive take on what we do in town when we are able. Unable to continue this now, I attempt other subjects.
