Beatriz Minguez is a Spanish visual artist. Her passion is the sea - it’s in the family - and spends 2 months every year living and working on a boat ever since her childhood. Ever since her parents gave her her first camera at the age of 11, she has been obsessively photographing the sea.Her vision researches on the representation of the underlying energy found in natural landscapes, spaces, and people within them. She intends to portray the sea as a living being. And lately also looking for ways to represent the surreal feelings of the recent heat waves during the last summers. Beatriz did 12 years of classical ballet, explaining her passion for photographing herself dancing underwater. Her video art pieces and multimedia installations have been awarded many times in international film festivals, and she has recently been commissioned two public artworks.
