“They say that no artist accepts a conventional and sense based reality and I am one of them” The art I present draws inspirations from my own childhood, 3 decades in the dance studio and theatre lights followed by a cathartic era in India. My Nudes depict Woman in her raw untouched naked state. WOMAN, not as a gender but as a dimension. Deep. Dark. Wet. Mysterious. Messy. Intoxicatingly Powerful. The Abstract Prints, extracts of my hand painted murals, on the other hand unleash the innate and untouched limitless expression of the Inner Child. My name is Janet and I come from a background of art, mediterranean spunk and a lifetime of soul shaking events. Born in 1974 and raised in Malta. I also spent many years in London & Mumbai. I am a multidimensional artist driven by the dripping abundance of my rebellious vision, intrinsic savagery and intuition. I live my life allowing the highest version of me to take over and dictate my actions. To the point where I had to learn how to trust and let go so ferociously……. ~ A moment of limbo, I call it. That moment when you jump off the cliff whilst working out how your parachute works. Then in the most spacious and mundane of life’s errands, the next steps become wildly clear. This is usually preceded by a volcanic urge to dig deep and find the way to do that thing I want most in the most unconventional, out of the box and extraordinary kinda way. And followed by a calm oasis soon after. ~ My childhood was not colourful yet I found solace in Dance. In fact I do believe that if it weren’t for the art, I wouldn’t be here today. It saved me on all levels and I owe it a lifetime of honour. Along this journey, I've ticked a lot of bucket list items and more importantly, had the time of my life doing it. I assisted Jeanefer Jean Charles in the large-scale and record breaking Big Dance centrepiece, which took place in 2006, in Trafalgar Square, London - an exhilarating finale to BBC One's Dancing in the Streets.
