The show was comprised of artwork that had been donated to the museum's permanent collection. From 2005-2007 Harlan worked as an in-house photographer at Crispin Porter + Bogusky. While there he photographed for companies including Ad Council, Coke, Geek Squad, Miller, MINI Cooper, Pearl Izumi, Truth and Volkswagen. Erskine has also shot editorial for XLR8R, THEME Magazine, The Blow Up, Tate Magazine (UK), The Source, The L Magazine, Harvard Business Review and Brooklyn Magazine. In the spring of 2008, Erskine exhibited his first solo show entitled, Black Sun Project at the Bas Fisher Invitational in Miami, FL. Erskine received his MFA from the School of Visual Arts (NY) in 2009. In the thesis show he exhibited five images from the project entitled, Imaginary Wars.
