“My creation work has always been marked by my questioning over human condition and, particularly, by the ability of mankind to be free, responsible of choices and actions of his own, but also to be perfectible. I have explored these philosophic themes through my sculptures, my uncompromising, or even provocative, installations, my ready-mades, my performances and interventions. My extremely fragile health condition has forced me to ponder, ever since I was very young to my relationship to my body. I have always been fascinated by the body as an object of questioning. I’ve had the opportunity to go with an obstetrician to his operating theatre for a whole day of surgery. This experience has opened my mind to new fields of exploration. The X-ray photographs, made along with an x-ray technician, are at the base of this work, true celebration of the complexity of life. Thanks to softwares, I randomly impose on these X-ray photograph excerpts, structural modifications both in the shapes and in the colours so as to obtain new digital graphic creations. I engage this material, which I had already used in some earlier sculptures, in an abstraction which plunges us into questioning our certainties and our doubts. To make a landmark of this new stage of my creation, I have wished to sign these photographs with Roboam, my mother’s surname.”
