Zuzana Valla is Ashford (UK) based photographer originally from Slovakia. At the age of 36, she is on the verge of defining her very own and recognisable signature photography style exploring multiple layers of distinct human beauty. Beauty in simplest of compositions, simple moments of life in emotionally complex still lifes. Her work was published in many respected online and print magazines - Vogue Italia, Dark Beauty Magazine, Dodho Magazine, Kent Bride Magazine, Artbo, Strng - and many more. She exhibited her works in Paris and Iran and she is planning more exhibitions across UK and Paris in 2018 and beyond. Zuzana comes from traditional Slovak upbringing as a child growing up in last years of strong communism regime and social transformation of Slovakia (formerly Czechoslovakia). Her father was a multiple boxing champion of Czechoslovakia while her mother was a housewife raising her, her sister and brother in small town in a very humble, ordinary and traditional way. Her grandfather was a keen amateur photographer shooting in black and white. Her grandmother was using special painting method to colour his photographs. Zuzana came to photography almost by accident at her late 20s. After initial disappointments using a mobile phone camera, she reached for her first DLRS camera and despite the initial obstacles and with nature of never giving up learning, she has never looked back. In her views and perceptive nature, Zuzana is excited about capturing the absolute right moment. The moment which is in one composition bringing together sadness and mystery, while contemplating tenderness and fragility of human body language. Her photographs speak stories. Whether it is being a combination of the instant moment of working and communicating with the subject (being photographed) or precisely staged still life. This approach is reflected in the subdued, subtle and tender atmosphere of her photographs. These are the ephemeral moments of untouchable atmosphere where true and inner human beauty and softness meet their oppositions. The energy of the photographs express the state when this beauty meets pain and sadness. All this being frozen and almost painted-like is creating her signature visual language to present the observer the simplest of all - love and beauty.
