ABOUT THE ARTWORK

An ongoing project of “Still-Life” from the series of "Not So Still”. This term of still-life has always fascinated and intrigued me as a visual expressionist. Collecting an object for a still-life image with some connection and purpose is always thought-provoking. In this particular visual the teapot belongs to a friend who had found memories of having tea in this teapot with his beloved and reading together. It’s living footprints of the time. The idea of stillness is no longer still because emotion and sense of presence have never been so still. However, choosing a medium to capture the essence of the subject. I chose the conventional black and film method, due to its image-making process, I have always loved the idea of visual tangibility and chemical processes such relevant to the subject matter. This image is printed on Archival Fine Art Paper “Hahnemuhle®” 308 gsm 100% Cotton · white or similar paper type with no border. Imran photographic practice has developed from a Fine Art background in contemporary digital art and photography. Always trying to explore the beauty or essence of the subject and the hidden qualities inside it, his work explores ideas of vision, touch, and the nature of experience and exploration. The work combines painterly texture, lens-based media, Design, and digital technologies. Two of his great passions in life are travel and documenting stories through the art of photography. He believes that travel broadens one’s view of the world. Experiencing other cultures, meeting people from other communities and other countries, and seeing the beauty and exploring culture and social behavior, of the world have helped him understand that all of our lives are at once interconnected and individual. However different communities and cultures he explored he became a much more tolerant and broad-minded person as a result. He has traveled to more than 260 cities in South East Asia, Asia Pacific to Europe, the UK, and currently in the USA. His journey continues while exploring innovative ideas and he is a citizen of the world. About Me Born in Pakistan, he always loved to explore different creative areas, after a bachelor's in Fine Arts From Karachi School of Arts, he went to Italy to further explore Visual media in photography on an experiment basis from IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) finished with Bachelor in photography-with distinction. During and after this period he worked as a freelance photographer with many International famous brands. Later He came back to Pakistan and ran his photographic studio. During this period he was part of many commercial/volunteer projects and also explored teaching as well. A few years later he went to England for MA studies in contemporary photography practice from the University of Sunderland. His photography practice explores and captures the beauty of the surroundings and subject, currently, he has started experimenting with conventional photography practice and bringing fine art practice into it with the help of a digital medium. Always loves to share his experience and knowledge with others so teaching is the best way to achieve. He taught as a Foreign Lecturer in China. Later in Pakistan as a Foreign visiting professor “hired by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan”. later he worked as an Assistant professor in Dubai and a year back moved to the US.
