kinestetic "aura" Photograph - Limited Edition of 1

WOMAN’s AURA The Aura concept, theosophically speaking is defined as an electromagnetic field coming into existence with the coloured radiations spreading from the living bodies and presents itself as the penetration zones spreading to the universe gradually. To read Aura is to feel aura. The aim of my project design is to make the viewer run after the subject, read the woman's aura and feel the vibration which reveals the mystery of the photograph by making him touch the invisible spots of the five senses. The colour of the emotional body - hosting all the colours of a rainbow - at a given time is determined by the emotional condition of a person. The red colour tones i used in Woman”s aura, represent the vivid life force and the sensation of resistance. In my photographs to emphasize the woman”s own life power, i chose to use red light and used it as a covering on the naked woman body, and i dressed my subjects with a cloth made up of red light and so hid their nakedness. The efforts to illuminate the women object on one hand and the obligation to cover the naked body on the other, creates a cute ironical oppositeness. Nakedness is the state where a person is truly himself...Light, by creating a covering impression on the woman”s naked body, gave me the chance to convey the woman”s aura to the viewer with a different and mysterious interpretation. This project which is made by disregarding the traditional illumination techniques of photography and having used the simple torch as the only source of illumination, is titled as “woman’s Aura”. This work which lasted around a year, can be regarded as a work belonging to the experimental field because of its application of the illumination beyond the authentic light. The technique of colouring with light or ornamentation with light as you can call it, even though seems to be unpopular and exceptional, it is still recognized as a scientific photography technique. Throughout the exhibition comprising of 21 photographs, the passion towards the light which is built upon the woman”s aura, is formed by the statements of lightlessness. For expressing the passion towards light, i chose as an outcome of my personal preference to produce the photographs with a torch in a very dark environment.
