About The Artwork
"by the flesh, the beginning and the end" is a piece from my ‘By The Flesh’ series. A series of flesh sculptures which I photographed, based on the biblical text Romans 8:6, “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace”. I used various types of flesh to represent lust, sensuality, life, death and sex. This piece is a visual representation of the portal between our life, birth and death.

The capability of humans for both good and evil acts and deeds are also themes which influence my work. All of my work is shot on medium format and 35mm film.
