ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This collection was inspired by the work of Elsworth Kellly and the minimalist movement, I was interested in using his concept of not wanting to compose pictures but finding them, in this case within the natural form of beach pebbles. The images were created on a Large format Camera and pigment printed using Museum quality archival paper.

I am a fine art photographer working primarily with hand-crafted large-format analogue photography. Although my subject matter ranges from portraiture to landscape the influence of American abstract artists Ellsworth Kelly, Jackson Pollack and Richard Serra has led me to use photography and in particular the negative image to explore abstraction and harmony created in nature. My methodology references the origins of photography, utilising large format cumbersome cameras, though not the speediest of processes it enables me to create images with a timeless yet contemporary quality.
