About The Artwork

quoting Hannah Arendt: The vain attempt to keep the Head above the Water, 2019 - Limited Edition: 25 + 3AP „We wanted to rebuild our lives, that was all. In order to rebuild one’s life one has to be strong and an optimist. So we are very optimistic. Our optimism is admirable. We lost our home, which means the familiarity of daily life. We lost our occupation, which means the confidence that we are of some use in this world. We lost our language, which means the naturalness of reactions, the simplicity of gestures, the unaffected expression of feelings. We left our relatives and our best friends and that means the rupture of our private lives. … … This optimism is the vain attempt to keep head above water.“ Hannah Arendt, We Refugees Floater Frame (black/gold) - Profile 12mm Paper: Kodak Pro Endura, glossy Mounting: Photo Print under Acrylic Glass 2mm Matte Art Limited: Visa Award Copyright © Paola Telesca Signed certificate of authenticity included www.paola-telesca.de/series-quoting-hannah-arendt-we-refugees/

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

In my work I am always looking for beauty and poetry even if some subjects I deal with are full of pain. I have always focused on the observation and search for visual expressions in themes that are in some way related or connected to movement and transformation, i.e. movement and transformation through forms, kinetics, emotions, human body and current events, moving from personal stories to collective consciousness. I focus on emotions and feelings, on the duality of things and the search for balance. A balance that comes and goes ... and yet is never permanent. Polarities can be found in the majority of my works. Interview: www.artistcloseup.com/blog/interview-paola-telesca
