*The print is unframed and will be sent in a tube. Prints look best when combined with other "Battery" images. This peace is made of 3 color layers (pale yellow, orange and purple) and portrays two calm mothers, Kohla and Peggy, with their foals. This group of horses was a delight to work with, the energy on the stage was very calm and soothing. The mares were gentle to each other and treated the foals with their motherly love – also the other mares’ one. Silkscreens named "Battery" are made after studio photographs of horses captured in a tight cell. The title comes from the term "chicken battery", where a larger number of animals is contained in a small cell. The photography project included different riding-, cart- and slaughter horses with painted numbers on their buttocks, where the points of interest were interaction between contained animals and their inner hierarchy. Multiple works of same dimensions were materialized in the medium of silkscreen with carefully selected images, which together represent a multi-piece artwork. The colorful pieces can be displayed in many different ways and variations and are easily changeable in accordance with one's taste and space capacities. If interested in the unframed prints or more pieces at once, inform me through Saatchi personnel about the selected numbers of the prints (for example II., V., XVIII,..) and obtain a discount.

Lara Ješe is a visual artist living and working in Kranj, Slovenia. She doesn’t stick to a particular style or a medium, but most of her production resides in figurative painting. Colder and darker tones from her earlier work with animal motifs have made way for increasingly saturated colours and strong, bold shapes. In 2016 she acquired her MFA at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and also studied at the HGB Leipzig in Germany. She has exhibited in solo and group shows internationally, most notably in Slovenia, Switzerland, Germany, and the USA.
