About The Artwork

I have a fascination with the endless possibilities of the simple form of a chair, and I use it as a metaphor for the human condition. When I look at chairs I see the character and personality. They can be rhythmical, comical, stylish, playful or serious. The Chairs I create are meant to inspire a variety of interpretations on the part of the viewer. I use a variety of materials such as cloth, paper, paint, and graphite. The vitality of my palette and structure of patterns provide a strong communication of the form. I feel a freshness and excitement in the process as I introduce new elements.
