About The Artwork

Silkscreen, in combination with Giclée Print on Somerset Enhanced Velvet paper 330 gr, with hand finishing. This is the larger of two sizes for this print. In the realm of artistry, behold "The Cherry," a masterpiece woven with Giclee and silkscreen, adorned with gold, birthed in 2023. Like Malevich's works, its inception echoes back to 2008, a transformative year where K-Liee birthed a plethora of nascent ideas, including the exquisite "Cherry." Russian titles pay homage to linguistic diversity, preserving their essence. This limited edition print, unveiled in 2023, casts a modern allure. A golden hand cradles a colossal cherry, adorned with feminine jewelry—an artistic flourish accentuating the delicate nature of the hand embracing this bountiful harvest. To K-Liee, the cherry transcends its botanical existence; it symbolizes life's sweetness—a visual ode to life, love, sanity, and sheer joy. The golden hand, a symbol of accomplishment, holds this harvest, akin to savoring the culmination of a life's journey. The Russian epithet 'Только листва' ('Only Leaves') adds a nuanced layer, echoing King Solomon's wisdom—'This too shall pass.' It whispers of the transient nature of all things, like leaves descending in autumn. This phrase casts a poignant shadow, a reminder that every 'Cherry' returns to the void, only for life to embark anew in the ensuing spring. In this intricate dance of futility, "The Cherry" unfolds a tale of life's ephemeral beauty, where beginnings and endings intertwine—a poignant revelation echoing the eternal rhythms of existence.
