Working from the memory of a lost work, this is from a series called Dark Harbour. Using the memory of the construction of the lost work, blocks of colour or tone seek to recreate both an unattainable past and a way of understanding how artworks are constructed, exploring the relation between areas of colour and tone afforded through different media and processes of visual storytelling. Techniques used include relief and intaglio printing, collage, the use of found images, particularly stamps and postcards, and the disruptive nature of the miniature and the apparent mistake.

I work with printmaking-based processes, often mixed. Woodcut, wood engraving, etching and monoprint; also collage and sculpture. Currently much of my work is using the remembered compositional structure of a lost work to explore ideas of nostalgia, loss, longing, and pictorial structure. Work in Wellcome Collection, Biblioteca de Catalunya, Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery, The New Art Gallery Walsall.
