About The Artwork

Printmaking: Ink on Aluminium. Prince on yellow horse 1/10 - COA-01-DG-aluminium 01-2017 I was inspired by a well recognizable shape in the picture "Equestrian Portrait of Prince Balthasar Charles" master piece in world history art painted by the 17th-century Spanish artist Diego Velázquez 1634. This serie is thought as a dialogue in between the pieces of the same serie. This could be perfectly coupled with the artwork ."Fallera de las Galaxias" from this same portfolio. About the material: ALUMINUM • 10 units available • 10 units 1/10 - COA-01-DG-aluminium 01-2017- Available 2/10- COA-01-DG-aluminium 02-2017- Available 3/10- COA-01-DG-aluminium 03-2017- Available 4/10- COA-01-DG-aluminium 04-2017- Available 5/10- COA-01-DG-aluminium 05-2017- Available 6/10- COA-01-DG-aluminium 06-2017- Available 7/10- COA-01-DG-aluminium 07-2017- Available 8/10- COA-01-DG-aluminium 08-2017- Available 9/10- COA-01-DG-aluminium 09-2017- Available 10/10- COA-01-DG-aluminium 10-2017- Available • Artwork printed directly onto brushed aluminium Dibond • Image size: 30x45 approx 11.8 x 17.7 inches • Hanging system provided. • It does not need to be framed • It will be delivered in a box • Signed, titled, numbered verso. • Certified of autenticity included The result is eye-catching: The areas of the artwork that are white or very light are not printed, but instead take on the appearance of the brushed aluminium surface. "prince on yellow horse" is particularly suited on this format to fans of modern architecture, graphic design, and technology. The material is also extremely robust and durable. Whether inside or in covered outdoor areas. I like in this media the contrast between the warmth of the image and the cold metal. The way you see the artwork keeps changing with the light along the day.

Artist Statement "I explore the essence of ART: I am intrigued by the reasons for works that endure in time, the reasons for those that fall into oblivion. I live art as a timeless conversation where not everything is said, where the essential is diluted in a wrinkle. The meanings that I cannot find are those that enrich me, disconcert me and arouse my interest as a spectator. They make a piece always accompany me. I want to make you my accomplice and my witness, so that you are the one who concludes my work: Sometimes, you will feel that I play with your perception, to stop and surround yourself with questions about what you see; other times, my portraits will look you in the eye and follow you around the room, wondering who you are. Maybe sometimes I just look for your smile, born of the absurd between my work and its strange name. Finally, I want you to be an active part of my living work. I enjoy the process of creation and it can be seen in my work: My art is a game of combinations, where materials, textures and colours, which I use without mixing and apply directly to the canvas with the spatula, improvise new routes for your senses. I combine movement and contrast to foster visual and emotional tension in you. Do you feel it? You are already living it." BIO Begoña Lafuente lives and works as an artist besides the North Sea, in The Netherlands. Born and raised in Spain, Madrid, she moved to North Holland in 2009 with her husband and two daughters. She obtained a Bachelor and Masters degree in 'Fine Arts', at the Fine Arts University Complutense of Madrid in 1992. She then started working directly as a graphic designer ever since 1993. Lafuente is a multidisciplinary and experimental artist. Her process continuously evolves using different techniques and media. These range from paint & photography, to scannography & collage, or monoprint. Fusing a real-life image with abstract components. Her art works urges you to draw your own interpretations of what art means to 'you' as an individual. Her choices involve daily matters, but you will also find that her Portfolio is inspired by the recognizable shapes of history’s art masterminds. She, moreover, creates an emotional and visual tension through use of “Themed Contrast”, “Opposite Colour Balance”, and “Biological vs Geometric Shapes”; themes that represent a constantly shifting nature.
