Pawel Rogalski takes up a very popular motif in the history of art, namely the act. He tries to interpret the subject in his own way and approaches it with aesthetic distance. One of his last serigraphy cycles is primarily melancholy and expectations, which may resemble scenes from the Balthus paintings. The naked girl is in a bath in the twilight, pointing to the dawn or late evening. The character of the heroine indicates her state of suspension in time, waiting for an event. A young woman is plunged into her own thoughts, turns to the viewer or seems to ignore him completely. The artist enriches some serigraphic prints with color effects applied to the basic painting. The color of blue highlights the chill and the scene stops, while the red color is disturbing, it brings up the associations that unfold before our eyes of silent drama. The entire cycle entitled "Dream" is therefore marked by strong emotions, far from lazy, idyllic vision of rest. -Marta Królikowska
