Ships in a Box
The artwork describes a confrontation between two forms: one, distant and raised from the ground, detaches itself from the background thanks to the subtle reverberation of a distant light, out of frame, which caresses it from above; the other, inseparable from the first, is the shadow that the latter casts. Eikénai is the Greek word that means "to be similar", and in this sense the work aims to reflect on what an image, a figuration (eikon) is: a reminiscence of something else, a reference, a similitude. For this, each image is double. This artwork won the 1st prize at Fibrenus Prize in Italy https://www.officinacultura.it/fibrenus-2022.html
