I was formally trained in the intaglio technique of printmaking but I really got to know the process well when I was assigned to teach a silkscreen class at my college . This print is part of a series of silkscreens I did called "Binding Ways" because I have used images of sewn or bound objects. This print could be interpreted as a broken heart being drained of heart ache. To the left a big scar is sewn closed. There is a stream of ghost-like floating leaves making their way across the picture plane. I have used an unusual technique of rubbing the Rising Stonehenge paper with a mixture of wax and pigment and then silkscreening images over the top. The top left corner is a photo silkscreen of bubble wrap. The green in the funnel is a Chine Colle using exotic handmade paper.
