About The Artwork

Classical mythology inspires and fascinates me with ways of telling stories of our past, present and pointing to possible futures. Bull has been reoccurring in many myths as symbol of strength and nourishment. Humans depended on cattle through ages, it has been provider of food, it was a form of saving account, a mean of transport and a power engine of antiquity. It was at once a line of credit and a truck. To have large and fertile herd was seen as blessing from divine. Bull at once stands for strength and sublimation of animal nature. Images of this majestic animal in art go as far to ancient cave paintings of Altamira and Lascaux in Europe as far as 36 000 years in the past and all the way to our times, to a Bull of Wall st. in New York. This work I did with oil on a plate and printed on paper by pushing it through the etching press. Resulting is monotype, which means that I made only one image on paper.
