Hotel Indigo is a mono-print from a series of small paintings and prints of beds and bedroom 'stilled lives'. Presence and aura are a constant theme in this series which depict intimate interiors with light entering a darkened space. The paintings are intended to convey a sense of poetry in the common place and magic in the mundane. These small works imply personal and untold stories with the narrative left open for interpretation by the viewer. Printed from an intaglio plate with layers of colour etching ink on archival somerset paper, each mono-print has its own uniqueness and identity. One of this mono-print series titled Hotel(Carmine) was recently shown and sold at The Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, East London in 2019.
