In 2009 artist Jörg Schmitz was looking for a word he could write in just one try and without stopping: Hoe found the word »JETZT« (german: now). Since then he realized uncounted works with different techniques on paper, canvas and on interior and outdoor walls. From three versions of the written word JETZT Schmitz composed a text field and printed a serigraphy series. The edition is limited to eight pieces and comes in three colours (white, grey, red) on eight different paper colours. A selection of five colour versions is now available at Saatchi Art. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist. The print comes without a frame.

Jörg Schmitz (b. 1969 in Hannover, Germany) ist an established artist who focuses on transformation processes from writing to image. In the tradition of german informel and visual poetry Schmitz explores and investigates the limitless potential of the alphabet and the handwritten gesture. Thus, he reflects one of the most relevant issues of our time: the fragmentation of our language as our basic communication system. Schmitz’ oeuvre consists of multiple formats and techniques from drawing, collage or painting on to objects, prints and installations.
