This piece is emblematic of the American idea of 'hitting the road', whereby you jump in the car and just go! The thing I love so much about this work is it could truly be anywhere in the world you want it to be.....your very own Monochromatic Journey!

BORN: New York MEDIA: Painting, Printmaking, New Media, Photography STUDIO: Connecticut My early exposures to environmental experiences have proved to be the impetus for my artistic focus. Capturing and retracing my journeys in the natural and urban environments result in unexpected juxtapositions. My environmentally focused imagery centrally highlights the fragility of nature in an increasingly technocentric world, through an amalgam of painting, printmaking and contemporary photographic media. Utilizing pattern, light and nuances of the tamed and untamed aspects in my environment enable me to offer an unexpected perception of the landscape. My work is observation-based, with a strong conceptual sensibility and superb craftsmanship. -Nancy McTague-Stock
