Mariel Sol is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Buenos Aires. After flourishing in Israel for over a decade, she found her home in the beautiful Hudson Valley, NY. A self-taught artist, Mariel has honed her craft through a variety of experiences. While her engagement with art has been lifelong, it was during the pandemic that she committed to a consistent practice, allowing her to deepen and expand her visual exploration. Her background as a singer-songwriter, healing practitioner, and intuitive writer profoundly influences her visual art, with her work often blending imagery, poetry, and, at times, sound. Mariel’s artistic practice embraces mixed media, incorporating paper collage, found materials, earth-based oil and watercolor paints, plant-based acrylics, graphite, and oil pastels. She is also exploring hand-sewn elements on canvas. As both an artist and an environmental activist, she has become increasingly aware of the harmful impact of acrylics, petroleum-based products, and synthetic chemicals commonly used in the art industry. Through extensive research and experimentation, she is now undergoing a full transition to earth-based paints and sustainable materials, and incorporating upcycled waste items into her work as well. This shift reflects a deep commitment to aligning her artistic practice with her mission—reimagining art-making as a bridge between humans and nature.
