Printmaking, Screenprinting on Paper
Size: 13.8 W x 19.7 H x 0 D in
This is one of a pair of screen prints examining beauty and the myth of St Lucy. In April 2020 the arts organisation Art Can asked for creative responses to Francesco del Cossa’s painting of Saint Lucy, c. 1473/1474 as part of a lockdown #ArtCanArtChallenge. This is one of two prints I have made in response - exploring beauty and pseudo-scientific attempts to standardise beauty, referencing Matila Costescu Ghyka’s ‘Harmonic Analysis of the face of Miss Helen Wells’. Screenprint, Edition of 12, signed and numbered Image dimensions 28x40cm (A3), paper dimensions 35x50cm Printed on 250gsm Southbank acid free paper
