Printmaking: Aquatint, Drypoint, Etching, Paper, Ink on Paper, Other.
This etching was made with five individual zinc plates; its inspiration originated with an antique photo (circa 1890) from the US Library of Congress Print & Picture Collection in Washington, DC. Each zinc plate measures four-inches high by three inches wide (7.62cm x 10.160cm); the overall image measures four-inches high by fifteen and-a-quarter-inch wide, or 10.160cm by 38.735cm. The print measures eleven inches high by twenty-two inches wide (27.940cm x 55.880cm). THE FRAME IS 27 INCHES WIDE BY 13 INCHES HIGH AND INCLUDES AN ARCHIVAL MAT. My special techniques of ink application and wiping help to produce the mysterious monotype-type effects in this etching. This is the SECOND EDITION of five prints. I create and print all of my works by hand at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My studio techniques included intaglio, aquatint and drypoint. Media included a special created-blend of five oil-based inks from Paris and Somerset Paper (textured and cream-colored), from Great Britan). For shipment, a sturdy cardboard box is employed. The SAATCHI price includes all regular, domestic (US) shipment costs.
