May 21, 2011 - Limited Edition of 1 Print

Life is Pink and Blue. Black ink on photocopy. 2011. OK, I'll tell you what this is... I did the original painting with watercolor and black pen in 1995. I still have the original painting but it's somewhat faded. However, after I had finished the painting I had it photocopied. I put the photocopy away in one of my boxes where it sat undisturbed for 16 years until one day in 2011 I rediscovered it rummaging through my closets. The photocopy pigments are quite stable so the print still looked pristine and beautiful. The original painting has a white background and I had always wondered what it would look like if the colored image was caste upon a black background. So I filled in the background of the photocopy with black ink using a black ink pen. That inked in photocopy is what is up for sale here.
