This limited-edition print series was inspired by the feminine, sensual aspects of water. By combining particular inks, a fine sediment is created that, when left to pool in the natural warps of the soaked watercolour paper, leaves ethereal watermarks as it dries, reminiscent of natural phenomena (amoeba, aerial landscapes, mountain contours, dried up ponds or lakes). The neutral palate tinged with blush also hints at delicate erotic flesh. There are seven works in this series, available in high-resolution, fine art print form only, in sizes ranging from A4 to A0. Only 15 prints are available in each size. All prints are signed by the artist.

I am devoted to the alchemical spectacle created by combining various inks with bleach, salt, gold dust etc. I never know what is going to happen on the paper. Usually, the fine details are far more impactful when enlarged. For this reason I use a high-resolution scanner (Epson Perfection V600), and artworks are scanned at between 1600-1800 dpi, ensuring every details is captured with crystal clarity in the final product, even at the A0 size. Plus it allows me to make very subtle digital alterations to enhance the final product. All prints are reproduced by WeTink Fine Art Printers in Woodstock, Cape Town, and are archival quality giclée prints on Felix Schoeller True Fibre 200gsm paper. All prints are signed/dated. Originally from Johannesburg, I have been working and playing in Cape Town for the past 20 years. An award-winning writer and editor in the media industry, in 2020 I ran from the 9-5 grind into the open arms of abstract art and haven’t looked back. I continue to explore many expressions of abstract art, but have found myself consistently drawn back to the mesmeric, fluid beauty of inks and their interplay with various materials. I currently live between Cape Town and a little village called Suurbraak in the Western Cape, South Africa, with my man and beloved pooches Pesto and Abby.
