This is the 45th print of a limited edition of 99 serigraphs with embossing and hot stamping in French fine art paper - 300g. In the '90s came Pietrina worked with serigraphs with embossing and hot stampig retaking the idea of beauty dazzles. This is a very delicate and expensive process, always printed on French paper 300g (for the artist is essential to work with the best quality materials). All pieces from this collection have have female names - women icons for good or for evil. This artwork portrays Ninon l'Enclos. She was very popular in Parisian saloons in the early 1600s. Her home became the centre of discussions and consumption of the literary arts in France. On her 30s she began to be a courtesan. Ninon had many notable and wealthy lovers, including the king's cousin the Great Condé, Gaston de Coligny, and François, duc de La Rochefoucauld, and Louis de Mornay, the marquis de Villarceaux. She lived with Mr. Mornay until 1655, then returned to Paris. The marquis suffered for her and as to console him, Ninon sent him a piece of her hair, starting a vogue for bobbed hair à la Ninon. She left a small legacy so that the son of her accountant could buy books. Later, he became known as Voltaire. The Artist: Pietrina Checcacci (1941 -) An Italian artist, accomplished and award-winning painter and sculptor, with several prizes with more than 90 solo international exhibitions and 50 collective exhibitions, being part of important art collections in various countries, including Brazil, Italy, USA, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay, Mexico, Germany, and Portugal.
