About The Artwork
In the form of child's drawing treansffered into printmaking, I´m authentically capturing the images of a dream cat that I used to draw as a kid for years. My wish was fulfilled, but not in the most desired form. The tragicomic experience of cats overgrowing taken from my angle of view is processed in a set of several dimensional graphs. Created with a combination of a dry point and a monotype of size 95x125cm The set tells of disintegration of a child's dream after confronting reality. It tries to describe and mock the problem that has affected our household for many years. The cat in this case is not only a cause of problems, but also a representative of family problems that are not related to the situation. It performs both the role of the culprit and the victims.

Cynthia Gregorová is a graduate of University od arts in Bratislava, Slovakia and although she studied printmaking, she is particularly close to painting. The author works with the theme of social ties, relationships of the individual with the surroundings. Her expressing medium is a combination of drawing and painting or printmaking, in which she uses mainly monotype and gravure printing techniques. Her creation is both expressive and lyrical, strongly associated with actual survival. Cynthia´s artworks are personal, reflexive, ironic. Essential for her is human, with his fears, ailments, and related encounters.
