October No. 67 - Limited Edition of 150 Print

The coniferous forests on the west coast of BC are punctuated with the regal clusters of Western Maple, with huge leaves that turn in October to many colors of gold. Such trees are old and mossy, gnarled, surviving against all odds... amidst their other neighbors, the fir, hemlock, cedar, salal, ferns, etc, and below all that myacelleum of pine and chanterelle mushrooms. This image is about the beauty and strength of trees and forests. Sketches in pencil and paint are made to arrive at a full size master drawing: from which areas are separated to become stencils, on silk screens, and then paint impressions on rag paper. Through the printing sequence we (the artists, Liz and Hal) create the art, and there is no other "original" . The prints are made in the same time frame and are "Multiple Originals".
