This work is the main translation, in art, of Luca Valerio D’Amico’s thought. Already the title suggests two concepts in opposition, ‘organismo’ = organism is a living being, born, not built, like the name ‘meccanico’ = mechanical, implies. In this artwork, mechanicalness is its exactly mirrored opposite, its contrary, its nemesis: to say organismo meccanico [mechanical organism] is like saying magnificent ugliness. This concept of the double contrary is a constant topic in the works of the artist. Organismo Meccanico can be understood as a window opening on human and animal existence, in which everything is created by a superior entity (be it divine or natural) and everything has its mirror image in something, tied together by the same bond (the uninterrupted line of the artist, his leitmotif). Luca Valerio’s art is refined quotation, intelligent reflection, graphical innovation.

Luca Valerio D'Amico is an artist from Rome whose travels have led him to seek inspiration all around the world. His works come to vibrant and dynamic life from the most simple lines, sometimes with childlike freedom and sometimes with a refined classical touch. These lines are born from his own past and from dreams translated onto scraped surfaces. Stories inside are linked with Urban and Pop culture, and the pure story of Art. Planning painting, hard borderlines, infrequent colors create the main language of this italian artist, unique in his genre. Welcome into Luca's world!
