About The Artwork

In these collaged prints i use many (copies of) old engravings with clouds, wind and a simple representation of the earth. I use this mostly as a background. On top of that i use pictures of women, boats, fish, etc. from a collection i gathered through the years. In quite a few case i get cooperation from the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Vintage fashion magazines from France are also favorite. The combining of all the elements to a collage is a digital process. The result is a high quality inkjet print (fine art print) on heavy Hahnemuhle William Turner watercolor paper. This print comes in an edition of 24. The print is numbered and signed and comes with a numbered and signed certificate of authenticity. It also comes with a numbered and signed sticker that can be attached to the back of a frame. Note that the paper size of this work is 19.7 x 19.7 inches. The image size is approximately 11 x 11 inches. The image is sold without frame. An eternal source of inspiration are the collages the German artist Max Ernst made just about a century ago. The woman on the bottom-left of the picture is taken from a Max Ernst collage. The image seems to be an illustration of a story. It’s not. It is a story in itself.
