About The Artwork
This work is part of a body of work evocative of the handwork of weavers and stitchers. Initially inspired by late 19 century Dutch darning samplers exhibited at The Cooper Hewitt Museum in NYC and the fine work of Anni Albers. The rhythms and quiet space that an artisan is immersed in while weaving and stitching is of particular interest to me. The images are intentionally delicate with the hope that the viewer finds a quiet space of their own.
