Skye Rocks Series: V - Limited Edition of 1 Print

Thinking about my creative process I'm reminded of a Yorkshire Terrier; lots of interest and enthusiasm, constantly rootling about. My ideas are explored in different materials and techniques such as those in sculpture, installation, photography, and more recently, printmaking. Being fascinated in the European oral traditions I came across words which have no English equivalency, such as the Andalusian word, 'duende', and the Welsh concept of 'hiraeth' Currently I am thinking about what 'home' means. The ideas of the words, and the resonance they cause seem to encapsulate my art. The quality within the work is of a room to be entered, redolent of the people who have left – an emptiness, a stillness, a quietness. Creating a single moment speaking to the present.
