With a degree in Art History (concentration in Modern), I also draw on my experiences in magazine publishing, as an art gallery director and modern quilter with work featured in International magazines and displayed in National quilt shows. I create fun, bold designs that play with decor from minimal to modern, contemporary and Mid Century styles. I grew up in Oregon wine country and Portland and spent much time in Arizona, captivated by the light and bold scenery. Printed on high quality Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper using Epson HD UltraChrome archival pigment ink. Signed, numbered and shipped with a Certificate of Authenticity.

While growing up under my architect father's drafting table I learned to build tiny models from the scraps that fell to the floor. I have always been a maker and a gardener. While attending The Catlin Gabel School in Portland, Oregon, I knew I wanted to major in Art History in College. I was particularly drawn to the diversity of studies in the Art History department at Smith College. During college summer breaks I returned to Oregon to teach tennis and intern at the Portland Art Museum in the Asian Art Department where I worked on a variety of projects including a book, "The Floating World Revisited." After graduating from Smith I went to Harvard University for a publishing program, after which I started my first job in magazine publishing at Cook's Illustrated in Boston. That led to a Managing Editor job at a National Interior Design magazine based in the Boston Design Center. I left magazine publishing to be a Gallery Director at an antique American Folk Art Gallery where we worked closely with Sotheby's, Christie's and Skinner Auction Houses. We also participated in shows such as the Philadelphia Antiques Show and the Winter Antiques Show in New York City. Fast forward a few years and I am married with two great kids and a rescue dog and live in New Hampshire. While staying home doing Mom activities, in my free time I returned to my love of textiles and design and began designing and making quilts. I've been on several design teams and have had a variety of quilts featured in International Quilting magazines, including cover projects. I do trunk shows and workshops for the Modern Quilt Guild, including teaching at Quiltcon in 2018 in Pasadena. Please contact me if you have any questions; I hope you enjoy my work. xo Karin
