About The Artwork

Limited edition giclee print from an original oil painting. Dimensions of image size, not inclusive of 2.5 inch white border. Proofed, signed and numbered by the artist, with certificate of authenticity. An homage to one of my favorite artists, as well as a respite from what typically tends to be “heady” subject matter for me. The title comes from my belief that our only real purpose in life is to be our true selves and to live as authentic a life as possible. It makes the question about what should one be doing with their lives a bit abstract. One person’s purpose may be to discover cures for diseases, while anothers' might be doing whatever makes their head float up off their shoulders, even if it’s casting a line off the moon for goldfish.

About the Artist Award-winning oil painter Paul Bond was born in 1964 in Guadalajara, Mexico, and currently lives and works in Southern California and Costa Rica. Paul Bond's art lives in the spaces between dreaming and reality. Drawing from the Latin American genre of Magic Realism, his paintings merge symbolic, surreal and fantastic elements with realistic atmospheres to unveil a world where everything is possible. At times, they simply express a whimsical aspect of life. Yet most works also carry deeper metaphysical and philosophical messages illuminating the world of our dreams and subconscious thoughts, fears and hopes. Bond’s work has won numerous awards and been featured in galleries, museums and cultural centers, including The Gateway Museum and The San Diego Art Institute. His paintings are now in private collections throughout the US, and worldwide. Corporate collections include Fox, Warner Bros and NBC Studios, Royal Caribbean International, Marriott Hotels, Scripps and Stanford Hospitals; and his works are featured in numerous contemporary art publications.
