'The Son of Mr Heaven' is a giclee print of an iPad 'mixed media' piece created on the Procreate program. It is printed on Hahnemuhle Photorag Pearl 320gsm paper. The print size is 24.5H x 19W in with a 3 inch border all round. The starting point of this piece was a photograph I took of the street in which i live, and the night sky above it. Using iPad as my main tool of expression, and through improvisation, i added further elements from my experience. The main theme, around which ideas loosely developed, is that of travelling upwards through the sky. The viewers' responses are personal to them. I do anticipate, though, that their responses shall be as open as the free growth of ideas that took place in the making of the image itself. Making such a detailed image enabled me to stretch my mastery of iPad art. It is extremely versatile as a medium as it allows the artist to move rapidly between modes of expression. Photography is a medium that I use regularly. I regard my handwriting to be a marker of my personality, and I often integrate it into my work.

I was born in 1954 and was brought up in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Since graduating I have lived and worked in London. I am currently most visible in photography. I also work as a painter (in oils, acrylic and so on); I draw, and work in mixed media and collage. I also dabble in literature, such as poetry and short stories. I like to mix image and text. My themes and approaches are boundless, because I work to the principle of ‘continuous inspiration’ and pursuing what makes itself apparent. My work can be found represented on my website johndavidart.net and in the Photos albums and Notes featured in my John Sherwood Facebook account. I am currently selling my photographs, and am prepared to sell giclee prints (framed or otherwise) of my paintings, drawings and so on. My prices are readily affordable and I am prepared to negotiate if asked to work to commission.
