Mudgett pays tribute to the literary genius in all of us with this stunning work from 2017. The Writer, depicts a woman seated, at a table deep in thought and pen in hand. We can feel her incredible concentration and pensiveness as she scrawls confidently on the paper in front of her. Painted in Mudgett's signature monochromatic palette, this work is a prime example of absolute mastery for which the artist is known. The seeming effortlessness with which the subject is conveyed gives the work a casualness which, complimented by the paring down of forms and the simplicity of line though out, make this a truly sophisticated work of art. These beautiful limited edition prints were meticulously created after the original works (Oil Paintings, Charcoal Drawings, Linoleum Cuts etc.) by master printers in Los Angeles, who worked closely with Mudgett to bring you this remarkable collection. They are printed in an edition of 100 on museum-quality cotton Moab paper. To ensure authenticity, each print is signed and numbered in pencil by the artist on the front and stamped with the atelier seal on the reverse. Paper size is 24 x 18 in, 70 x 46 cm.
