"The sacrifice" is an image representing mental trauma which can be the price for extreme human dedication. It is a figural depiction of this phenomenon translating the process of mental scarification into an image. This work was printed as an unique print in previous series and it is recently reprinted in a proof of 3 sheets. The technique used is aquatint in combination with etching.

Born in 1991 Denis Haracic is an visual artist working primarily in the medium of printmaking and drawing. His work is heavily related to the mutual bound between the inner self and the outer world, where the world is looked at as an outer reflection of our identity. The stone-like human shapes presented in his peaces are archetypal reminders of our lost humanity, brought to us by the trauma of modern society, but quite often relating to very personal themes as well. Everlasting existential emptiness and the search for identity are omnipresent in Haracic`s work.
