With Nomadism in my blood, I identify as a Citizen of Nowhere. I currently work from my home studio in Bloemfontein, where I produce minimalist abstract works inspired by everyday life, spontaneous sketches, and there’s a certain joie de vivre in my process that only a child knows in summer vacation. My focus is on illustration, inks, and monotype prints as I continue my six-year+ journey in digital graphic design. Born and educated in South Africa, I studied Communication Design & Art History at Rhodes University (Grahamstown). My process consists of deconstruction and decontextualizing everyday objects and then reconstructing them to ‘make sense’ (or not). The challenge is to see beyond the distraction of the conspicuous to capture the essence in each subject. My inspiration: Pollock, Escher and The Process.
