Years of travel and living abroad are the reasons why Alison’s chosen subjects are so varied. Born in Brazil and nearly two decades living in Italy she sees the world full to the brim with fascinating subjects to portray. Having studied illustration and fashion design and then gaining a BA in Fine Arts, Alison has a wide experience of diverse art methods and styles. But it was a lucky chance encounter with a printmaker that she tried her hand at linocutting and finally knew she had found the perfect process for her and her style of work. Alison’s main priority when creating art is to reach a perfect balance of colour and composition whatever the subject matter. As long as it is pleasing to the eye she feels her work is done. Her linocuts have been exhibited in many group shows including at the Bankside Gallery, OXO Tower and the Royal Academy of Arts.
