This piece began as an interior view of a fragmented 3D sphere. I treated the image digitally to emulate the look of a watercolor. The bottom area looked like yellow water to me, with an entity crossing over it, surrounded above by an atmosphere of shimmering triangles. I call it "Walking On Watercolor," for a little double entendre! This a digital painting, created with my own unique process of image making that weds 3D object creation with innovative camera techniques, and naturalistic texturing. It's a process that retains the 3D color harmonies and object rhythms that are enduringly fascinating! This is an unframed Limited Edition Print, on thick archival paper. The giclee printing results in rich, intense colors, that are faithful to the digital art. The print image is 20x20" with 2" of extra paper all around. "Walking On Watercolor" comes in a limited edition of only 8 prints, all hand signed and numbered by me. Once all 8 of the prints in the edition have sold out, there will be no other prints of "Walking On Watercolor" available in that size. Limited edition prints of this artwork may be available in other sizes. Order processing takes approximately 10 days. Your print is produced and sent to me personally for quality inspection, numbering, and signing. Then your print is shipped and you are sent a tracking number by email. The print ships rolled in a sturdy tube with a certificate of authenticity.

Paul Petersen is a digital artist who is helping to pioneer a technique he calls Spherical Art. He captures his images with a virtual camera, inside 3D polyhedral spheres. He uses their internal mathematical order to create unique artwork. He harnesses the intelligence these spheres possess to create color harmonies and visual rhythms that are evocative and expressive. Paul Petersen studied painting at UCLA with Richard Diebenkorn and William Brice, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He did post graduate study at the Art Center College of Design. He's had careers as an advertising art director, watercolorist, and medical illustrator. His technical proficiency in computer graphics has put him in a position to explore this new area of abstract geometric image creation.
