This is hand printed Zinc plate lithograph, hand finished with paint. I make my work quickly and instinctively, not planning or overthinking too much what will happen on the plate. I let the medium take over, and see what happens... Often the medium dictates how the piece turns out; in an interplay between myself and the plate. Zinc plate lithography is a rare medium which is rarely taught, but the mark-making effects are like no other. This is hand finished with Guache, Watercolour and acrylic paint. Each lithograph is therefore unique. It was inspired by a recent love.

Taking the Female experience as the central theme within my practice, my work illustrates often highly personal stories from my own, as well as others’, lives; I use raw printmaking techniques including monotype and lithography to illustrate often highly sexually charged, erotic and romantic scenes. Working into these unique monotypes with paint and mixed media. My work also presents itself to me through my dreams – presenting me with characters that ask to be realised through my practice. Including men, horses and mythical creatures from the subconscious world. My work questions sexuality and gender boundaries and what it is to be ‘feminine’ in our ever-changing world, revealing a personal as well as a wider political inquiry. I formerly read English Literature and Art History followed by a Foundation in Art (specialising in Textiles) at The London College of Fashion both of which have heavily influenced my work, followed by studying Illustration at The Glasgow School of Art, thus text and language interplay with figures and pattern in the creation of my narratives and aesthetic.
