Printmaking: Lithograph on Paper.
Women Merchandise series is a crossroads between a technique of classic engraving, complicated and dangerous (for the acids that are used), and the inevitable current look where the image is more than ever in history very easy to reproduce. It is then from the collage, the composition of images given in magazines (CitizenK in this case) and other media that proposes a series of compositions on the different representations of femininity as a selling product: sexual woman (sexually available woman), mother woman vs. feline ( animal) or hysterical woman vs. santa. These opposites are the reality of the current feminine experience, it seems that the woman has to fit in one or another cliché imposed externally, by society, in short, by the economic and patriarchal system.
It may be poetic to think about the relationship between the danger of lithographic technique to accompany a dangerous experience, or at least complicated, of being a woman. Historically it has always been and always is. At this point it is perhaps appropriate to consider that a priori classic, past and outdated turns out that it is not so.
